In the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, Friday, November 3, the 10th summit of the organization of the Turkic states (OTG)
will start.
The event will be held under the motto “Turkic era”.
In the work of the summit, along with the President of Kazakhstan, Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, President of Kyrgyz Sadyr Zadar Zadaristan and President of Uzbekistan Shavket Mirziyoyev will take part.
Chairman of the Hulk Maslahatta (People’s Council, one of the chambers of parliament) of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban invited to the summit as leaders of the observers.
It is expected that the Astana act and the Astana declaration will be signed at the summit, as well as a number of important decisions in the field of economics, trade, transport, customs, finance, education, tourism, culture, etc.
The deputy agent Omer Kodzhaman, in an interview with Anadol, noted the significance of the upcoming summit and decisions that will be taken on it.
According to him, important steps will be taken on the forum in the direction of integration of the Turkic world.
“The current international situation pushes to the deepening of cooperation in the Turkic world,” said Kojaman.
In particular, he emphasized the need to deepen the cooperation between OTG member states in the field of defense and security.
According to him, it is planned to decide at the summit on the creation of a general civil protection mechanism of the countries of OTG. “In the world, both humanitarian and political crises grow. The example of this is earthquakes. We are working on the creation of such a mechanism to establish interaction in case of natural disasters,” he explained.
Codzaman added that another important aspect is an increase in trade volumes in the framework of OTG. “The volume of trade inside the OTG exceeded about $ 40 billion. The increase in this indicator at the moment is one of the most important issues for us. The Turkic investment fund plays a very important role for the development of cooperation in this area,” the agency’s interlocutor said.
He noted that Turkmenistan is expected to join the community as a full member.
Kojaman also indicated that the activities of Hungary and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRK) as observers in OTG contributed to an even greater strengthening of the organization.
