12th World Government Summit (WGS 2025) Started In Dubai

In Dubai on Tuesday, February 11, the 12th World Government Summit on the topic “Formation of the Government of the Future” (WGS 2025) was started.

It is expected that this year the summit will collect the heads of state and leaders of about 30 countries, as well as delegations of 140 governments, high -ranking leaders of technological companies and representatives of international organizations.

Speaking at the opening of the summit, Minister for Cabinet of Ministers of the UAE and the chairman of the WGS Mohammed al-Gergavi drew attention to conflicts, humanitarian crises, economic problems and technological achievements that have been observed in the world since 2000.

He drew attention to the fact that over the past 25 years, as a result of wars and conflicts in the world, 2 million people have died and about 120 million people became displaced persons. “25 years ago, the world was afraid of nuclear wars. Our biggest problem today is a cyber man,” the minister said.

Al-Gergavi is convinced that humanity is doomed to failure until you learn how to learn lessons from mistakes of the past. “Currently, humanity is at a completely different turning point and enters into a new era. The formation of the future in our hands,” he added.

International efforts are not enough

Founder and General Director of the World Economic Forum (VEF) Klaus Schwab also stated that the world is moving from the industrial era to the “smart era”.

“We move from the industrial era to the intellectual era at a very fast pace, and this pace is very different from the transformations that the world has experienced earlier. Everyone speaks of artificial intelligence. We see this speed if we look at changes in the field of artificial intelligence only for The last 3 years, ”Schwab said.

In this era, “information, data and intellectual ideas” are important, the governments need to promote these changes and transformations, as well as provide the necessary infrastructure, said the general director of the WEF.

Schwab is convinced that another duty of governments is to ensure the development of talents necessary in this age. “At this stage, the key factor is education. Governments should work together and develop the necessary policy taking into account new technologies. Current international efforts are not enough,” he added.
