160 Million Children Are Forced To Work In World

approximately 160 million children around the world are deprived of the right to education and are forced to do a meager fee and in difficult conditions to carry out many hours of work on agricultural lands, mines and industrial facilities.

Of these, 89.3 million are children aged 5-11 years, and 35.6 million belong to the age group of 12-14 years.

Africa countries south of Sahara, China, India and the American continent leading among the regions of the world with the largest number of working children.

This was in an interview with an ANADOL agency correspondent said the head of the Institute of Human Rights and Equality of Turkey (Ti̇hek) Professor Mukharrem Kylych. The conversation took place on the eve of World War Rights of World Wizards.

According to him, according to the definition of the International Labor Organization (ILO), children’s labor is a work that deprives children of childhood, their potential and dignity, and also harms their physical and mental development.

“According to the ILO report, the number of working children increased by 8.4 million, especially in 2020-2024, having reached more than 160 million around the world. About 28 percent of children aged 5-11 years, 35 percent of children aged 5-11 years 12-14 years are excluded from the educational process and are deprived of the opportunity to attend school, ”he said.

Kylych emphasized that child labor is socially and morally dangerous and harmful.

The professor added that forced labor destroys the potential and confidence of children, as they lose the right to experience and the ability to gain skills.
