In Haiti, unknown attackers kidnapped 17 Christian missionaries from the USA directly from the bus. The place of their stay and the details of what happened is still unknown, reports The New York Times.
The incident occurred in the capital of Haiti – the city of Port O-Prince. According to local authorities, missionaries were sent to the airport after visiting the shelter.
The publication notes that the abduction of people – both rich and poor – has long become the usual phenomenon on Haiti. However, officials are shocked by such a naked crime.
Journalists added that crime in Port-O-Prince continues to grow. Currently, according to some data, approximately half of the capital Haiti is under the control of various gangs.
