Last year, Kazakhstan accepted 9.2 million foreign tourists, while the largest increase in the number of tourists who visited the country was on China, India, Germany, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates.
The Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan shared data on the number of foreign tourists entering the country in 2023.
Thanks to the visa -free regime, signed between the governments of Kazakhstan and China, the number of Chinese tourists who come to the country increased by about 20 times. If almost 18 thousand Chinese citizens visited Kazakhstan in 2022, then last year this number reached 370 thousand. The number of direct flights between the two countries reached 44 flights per week.
Last year, 78 thousand people from India visited Kazakhstan, the interest of German tourists in the country also increased. Over the indicated period, 85 thousand citizens of Germany arrived in Kazakhstan. India and Germany are followed by South Korea with 36,600 people and the United Arab Emirates with 10,500 tourists.
Citizens of Uzbekistan are the most frequent guests of Kazakhstan. In 2023, 3.6 million people visited the country from Uzbekistan, 2 million from Russia, 1.6 million from Kyrgyzstan and 700 thousand from Tajikistan.
In 2023, Kazakhstan as a whole adopted 9.2 million foreign tourists.
