The army’s press service noted that operations were carried out in Borno from January 30 to February 7. During the operations, 27 terrorists were destroyed, and 85 was detained. 44 civilians were also released, which terrorists were captured in hostage to obtain a ransom, and a significant amount of ammunition was seized.
Boko Haram has been operating in Nigeria since the beginning of the 2000s, and since 2009, its mass attacks have taken away the lives of tens of thousands of people. Since 2015, the organization has expanded its attacks on neighboring countries – Cameroon, Chad and Niger. In the region of the pool of Lake Chad, their attacks led to the death of at least 2 thousand people.
