The third summit of the Central Asia-European Union will be held in the first half of this year in Samarkand (Uzbekistan).
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the Foreign Minister Bakhtiyar Saidov held a telephone conversation with the Supreme Representative of the European Union (EU) on Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaya Kallas.
During the conversation, the parties discussed issues of the state and development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
noting that relations between Central Asia and Europe are developing rapidly, the parties noted that they have achieved many results from mutual cooperation and there are opportunities for further interaction.
The parties reported that the previously deferred 3rd summit of the Central Asia-European Union will be held in the historical city of Samarkand in the first half of this year.

The first Summit of the Central Asia-European Union with the participation of the heads of the State Asian states and senior officials of the European Union took place in the capital of Kazakhstan Astana in October 2022, and the second-in June 2023 in Cholpan-Ata (Kyrgyzstan).
