Four nominations related to the intangible cultural heritage of Azerbaijan are included in the representative list of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage. Such a decision was made during the 17th session of the Inter-government Committee for the Protection of the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage, which takes place in the capital of Morocco Rabat from November 28 to December 3. According to the report, the national nomination of Azerbaijan “Struggle, Traditional Games of Zorkhan and Sports”, as well as three multinational nominations prepared with Azerbaijan: “Traditional silk for coconuting and weaving” (Azerbaijan, were included in the representative list. Afghanistan, Iran, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan), “Tradition of Retelling of the jokes of Molly Nasreddin” (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan) and “Culture of tea: origin, hospitality and symbol of social interaction” ( Azerbaijan, Turkey).
At the meeting, a positive decision was made for each of these nominations. All of them were included in the representative list of the UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
