In the Trabzon, the 44th international half marathon under the slogan “Green Steps, Clean Future”, dedicated to the 106th anniversary of the liberation of the Trabzon from enemy occupation, took place.
Marathon, organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Athletics Federation of Turkey and the municipality of Trabzon, passed along the route of the coastal road of Yeni Mahalla, 423 athletes took part in it.
Ethiopian athlete Feten Alem Ragas took first place over the time of 1.03.54, Hussein Kan – the second with the result of 1.03.57, and Mahsum Deger – 1.04.01.
In the female race, Dilek Oztyurk took first place 1.15.50, Pynar Demir – showed the second result 1.19.03, Remesius Erman – the third over time 1.22.24.
In a 10-kilometer race organized as part of an organization in which 166 people took part, Taner Tunchatan among men and Ezgi Kaya among women took first place.
The Governor of Trabzon Aziz Yyldyrym told the correspondent of the Anadolu agency (aa) about the event.
Having stated that they are satisfied with mass participation in the marathon, the governor added: “The main thing is participation. I congratulate and wish our friends who devoted themselves to sports, came to this city from different places and took part in this event.”
Director of the Provincial Department of Youth and Sports Lokman Arydjoyoglu, noted that the organization was held at a high level: “Athletes from different parts of Turkey and different countries of the world gathered here.
