51st session of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (SMID OIS) will be held on June 21-22 in Istanbul, chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey Khakan Fidan.
According to sources in the Turkish Foreign Ministry, in preparation for the event on April 27 and 29, a meeting of senior officials will be held in the city of Gidda in Saudi Arabia.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkey NUH Yilmaz will accept the chairmanship at a meeting of senior OIS officials, replacing the head of the delegation of Cameroon at this post.
At the opening of the meeting, it is planned to perform Nukha Yilmaz, as well as the appeal of Secretary General OIS Hussein Ibrahim Tahi.
At a meeting that will be held at the OIS headquarters in Gidd, senior officials from 57 member states will discuss projects of resolutions on the agenda, and also consider reports reflecting the general policy and principles of the OIS.
The draft decisions adopted at the meeting will be submitted for approval by the Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs.

In June, Türkiye will accept the 51st Somid OIS session in Istanbul and head the organization for a period of one year.
Earlier, meetings of the Council of Foreign Affairs of the OIS were held in Turkey in 1976, 1991 and 2004.
SMID OIS makes decisions on important issues relating to Muslim communities, in particular, the situation in Cyprus, the Turkish minority in the Western Clever and the Turkish community on the islands of Onics, Muslim minorities and situations in Syria.
