The total number of accredited foreign observers in the July elections in Uzbekistan reached 785 people, and the number of representatives of local and foreign media 1299 people, the Uzbek media reported.
On the eve of Tashkent, the next meeting of the Central Election Commission of Uzbekistan (CEC) was held on preparations for the presidential early elections.
According to the CEC, during the meeting, members of the commission considered the issues of accreditation of international and foreign observers, media representatives.
In particular, according to the proposal, the Foreign Ministry, 401 observer from the OSCE BDCH, the World Association of Electoral Enforcement agencies, the CIS, the International Fund for Electoral Systems and Foreign countries were accredited.
Based on the appeals received by the CEC, 42 representatives of local media are accredited.
