“The genome of the SARS-COV-2 virus, related to the subvariant of the Omicron-Skamm BA.4, is allocated in Russia.” This was stated by the head of the laboratory of genomic research of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Kamil Hafiz.

According to him, in the VGARUS base developed by the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, the SARS-COV-2 virus genome is deposited, related to the nitrospareans of Omcrone Ba.4.

As Hafizov specified, the biomaterial fence is dated to the end of May.

“Currently in Russia, the BA.2 version and its subsidiaries prevails. They make up about 95% of all new cases of infection,” he said.
