At a meeting of the Coordinating Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on transit cargo transportation, it was decided to create a single headquarters for managing transit cargo transportation.
The main task of the headquarters is to simplify and electronize the procedures carried out at the border checkpoints, synchronization of planning transit operations and improvement of the processes of a single dispatch control. Speaking from the interests of the country, and not individual participants in the process, the headquarters will carry out constant monitoring of operations and regularly report to the Secretariat of the Coordination Council.
For the prompt solution of the problems of transit cargo carriers, a call center will be created at the headquarters.
The Procedure Rules were also signed on the management of operations during the transportation of transit goods carried out on the territory of the Baku International Sea Port. The document regulates the processes of cargo processing, the sequence of operations and the documentation of the deadlines. It was decided to sign similar procedural rules for other border checkpoints.
The participants in the meeting were informed that as a result of studies of local and foreign specialists, a “transit roadmap” was compiled. This card determines the short -term, medium -term and long -term goals for the complete disclosure of the country’s transit potential.
Note that the Coordination Council of the Republic of Azerbaijan on transit cargo transportation is a collegial executive body created to attract transit goods to transport corridors passing through the country and ensure their high -quality transportation.
