Abdel-Majid Tebbun Was Re-elected To Post Of President Algeria

President Algeria Abel-Majid Tebbun won the early presidential elections, gaining 94.65 percent of the vote.

The head of the Algeria independent National Electoral Administration, Mohamed Sheref, announced at a press conference that the Tebbun was re-elected president, gaining more than 94 percent of the vote.

Candidate from the movement for the world of the world (house), the Islamic Party in Algeria Abdulaali Hassani Sharif received 3.17 percent of the vote, and Yussef Usushi, the Secretary General of the Socialist Forces (DSS), took the last place with 2.16 percent of the vote.

Sherefi said that the level of participation in the elections was 48 percent.

After the Abdulaziz Butuflik was forced to resign after 20 years of stay in power as a result of mass public protests in Algeria in 2019, the new president of the country was Abdel-Majid Tebbun, who received 58 percent of the vote in the elections.

Tebbun ran for an independent candidate for the next presidential term and received the support of the army, media, religious communities, employers and some political parties.
