About 26% Of Ukraine GDP In 2025 Will Be Aimed At Security And Defense

Verkhovna Rada in the first reading voted for the draft state budget for 2025.

This was announced by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmygal on the social network Telegram.

According to this information, this decision was supported by 247 deputies.

As the Prime Minister said, the priority of the estimate next year will be security and defense.

“All taxes that people and business pay will direct to strengthen our defenders and military capabilities,” said Shmygal.

According to him, more than 2.2 trillion UAH will be directed for these purposes, which is about 26% of GDP. This is 46 billion UAH more than in 2024.

In general, the costs of the state budget are planned in the amount of more than 3.6 trillion UAH, which is 535 billion UAH larger than this year.

The income of the total fund is planned in the amount of 2.7 billion UAH, which is 411 billion UAH more than this year.
