“Children’s hotline” service, which has been providing free psychological and social assistance to children in Azerbaijan, continued its work in the summer months. Employees of a hotline that operates in the framework of the joint activities of Azercell Telecom, UNICEF in Azerbaijan and Public Association of Social Initiatives “Ümidli Gələcək”, with great attention to appeals affecting issues related to the rights of children, health care, an effective leisure organization And other topics.
In the period from July to August, 767 calls were received on the “Children’s Hotline”, of which 454 were carried out for the first time and 313 – reused. Most calls affected education issues (203 appeals) and legal issues (197 appeals). 115 appeals were received in connection with psychological problems. In addition, the service personnel of the hotline was asked questions about Health (75 appeals), social (73 appeals) and other (104 appeals) of the spheres.
Over the past two months, 268 calls from children and adolescents under 18 years of 18 years has arrived at the hotline. Of these, 167 appeals came from girls and 101 – from boys. But in general, most of the calls arrived (477 appeals) were from adults. Note that 22 incoming calls were anonymous. In connection with the appeals arrived at the hotline, meetings with 11 families were organized, 33 individual and group socio-psychological rehabilitation work were held. To solve raised questions, 56 letters were sent to the relevant authorities.
Different means of communication used to the “Children’s Hotline”. Most of the calls were made on the mobile service number. Within two months, 424 people contacted “Children’s hotline” on mobile phones and 248 – in stationary. Also, applications were filed through social platforms.
During these months, employees of the Children’s Hotline participated in international trainings on various topics, gave an interview to the media. At the same time, the social networks of the service organized online discussions on topics such as child violence and human trafficking. In the center of the support of children and families, a meeting was held with the participation of teachers, psychologists and social workers, as well as family members who appealed to the hotline. Service staff also took part in training courses for adolescents living in orphanages. Information on the activities of the “Children’s Hotline” in Azerbaijan was regularly posted on social networks.
