Abramovich froze assets worth $ 7 billion

Royal Court Jersey Island issued an official decree on the freezing of assets in the amount of $ 7 billion associated with the Roman Abramovich. Police conducts searches related to billionaire, RBC-Ukraine reports.

Abramovich was among several rich Russians, who last month were under the sanctions of the United Kingdom and the European Union in connection with the military actions of Russia in Ukraine, and since then the governments have been taking measures to confiscate the yachts and other luxury items.

In the statement of the Department of Justice of the Self-Government Dependent District of the British Crown states that on Tuesday, the Jersey police conducted searches in the premises related to the commercial activities of Abramovich.

“The Royal Court also ruled on April 12, the official decree on the freezing of assets, the cost of which is considered exceeds $ 7 billion, which is supposed to be related to Mr. Abramovich and who are either placed in Jersey, or belong to legal entities registered on Jersey, “said in the message.
