the former chairman of the Bardensky district branch of the Red Crescent Society of Azerbaijan, Khanlar Ismailov, accused of embezzlement, died.
It was stated in the course of the trial in a criminal case against Ismailov. So, in a criminal case, was investigated in the Bardensky district court, it was noted that the accused died during the investigation – November 1, 2021 from acute respiratory failure. By the court decision, the criminal case against Ismailov was discontinued.
Note that the former chairman of the Bardensky district branch of the Red Crescent Society of Azerbaijan, Hanlar Ismailov, born in 1958, was detained by the head of the Main Directorate to combat corruption under the General Prosecutor in May 2021. During the investigation, it turned out that during their work – since 2012, Ismailov assigned a large amount of funds. It reinforced the funds from salary maps of persons, fictitiously employed in the organization. Persons these were applicants to targeted social assistance, for the appointment of which under the law it is necessary to have an official place of work.
In the period of investigation, Ismailov were charged under articles 179.2.3 (assignment or embezzlement committed by a person using his official position), 179.2.4 (assignment or waste committed with causing significant damage) and 313 (official fraud) of the criminal Code. With respect to him, a preventive measure was elected in the form of home arrest.
