Suspecting in the attempt on Russian propagandist Vladimir Solovyov, new charges were charged, Kommersant writes.
Now they are charged with participation in a terrorist organization. Under this article, the suspect faces up to 20 years in prison.
The investigation also accused the defendants of storing and manufacturing weapons and explosive devices. During the searches, they found Molotov cocktails and firearms, the publication said. In addition, according to investigators, the suspects participated in the arson of administrative and official buildings and cars, expressing a protest against Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
First, the suspects were accused under Article 105 (preparation for murder in a generally hazardous way) and under Part 3 of Article 144 (obstruction of the legal professional activity of journalists with the threat of violence) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
The FSB announced that it prevented the attempt on Solovyov, last spring. Then the Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested six people: Andrei Pronsky, Vladimir Stepanov, Maxim Druzhinin, Vasily Strizhakov, Vladimir Belyakov and Andrei Volkov. This happened after threats were received at Solovyov, and he himself was taken under guard. Investigators believe that all the accused participated in the terrorist group of National Socialism/White Power (“National Socialism/White Power” recognized in Russia). In the summer, accusations in this case were brought by the seventh suspect – Timofeus Mokia. His investigators called the “direct link with the customers of the murder”, the publication notes.
