US Presidential Advisor Jake Sullivan and chief adviser to Turkey President Ibrahim Kalyn met in Istanbul, the press service of the White House was distributed.
“They discussed the ongoing support of Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression, including condemned Russia’s attempts to illegally join Ukrainian territory,” the statement said.
Sullivan expressed gratitude for the efforts to strengthen world food security, as well as diplomatic work on the release of the “two Americans contained in the Russian Federation,” said in Washington.
“They also discussed regional security issues, including supporting peace negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to resolve any disagreements in the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as the progress of Finland and Sweden on the path of accession to NATO,” the said in the way message.
