Advisor To President Of Azerbaijan: Artificial Intelligence Must Have Ethical Boundaries

Advisor to President Azerbaijan Hikmet Gadzhiev as part of the International Summit on Strategic Communications (Stratcom Summit ’24), organized by the Communications Department of the Administration of the Turkish President in Istanbul, performed at the session of “Artificial Intelligence and Strategic Progress: a vision of the future of Azerbaijan”

The moderator of the session was the director of the research of the Fund of Political, Economic and Social Research (SETA) in Washington Kylych Buger Kanat.

Gadzhiev in his speech said, Azerbaijan promptly reacts to disinformation using artificial intelligence: “From this point of view, artificial intelligence really brought us great benefits. He allowed us to determine (source) and increase knowledge in our struggle with the removal. We developed Methodology for countering misinformation “.

The speaker noted the importance of whether humanity is ready psychologically, ethically and mentally for artificial intelligence technologies.

, however, on the other hand, we must take into account the possibilities that open technologies. In this context, the use of artificial intelligence is one of the priorities in our country, ”he said.

Having emphasized that artificial intelligence technologies are used daily in Azerbaijani media and diplomacy, Gadzhiev added that Azerbaijan was at the center of intensive misinformation using artificial intelligence during the 2nd Karabakh war.

According to Gadzhiev, his country also responded to misinformation with the help of artificial intelligence: “From this point of view, artificial intelligence really benefited us. He allowed us to increase knowledge in the fight against detection and misinformation. We developed a methodology for counteracting misinformation.”

The use of artificial intelligence is a global problem, the technology in question should have ethical frames.

For this reason, the world community should pay special importance to this and establish a framework for managing artificial intelligence: “We must agree in the context of both legal and international law, it is very important to draw ethical boundaries.”

At the end of his speech, the presidential adviser also recalled that this year the COP29 UN climate summit was held in the capital of Azerbaijan Baku: “Azerbaijan took a very important event to change the climate. It was a special event.”
