Afghanistan: 38 UN employees were killed in two years

Since August 2021, 38 employees of the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UKGV) have been killed in Afghanistan. This was announced by the Tolonews television channel Coordinator of the UKGV on humanitarian issues in Afghanistan Daniel Peter Endres.

Most of them were engaged in vaccination of children from poliomyelitis and cleansing the fields.

Despite the lack of financing of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan, last year the UN officers provided humanitarian assistance to more than 26 million people in 401 Afghanistan district.

In February 2022, eight medical workers, including four women, were shot dead as a result of individual attacks of unknown armed persons in the northern provinces of Kunduz and Tahar.
