The Turkish Agency for Cooperation and Coordination (TİKA) restored the school building in the Afghan province of Badgis, which was in jeopardy.
The TİKA office in Herth noted that the school, located in the village of Murchak with a predominance of the Turkmen population, is studying about two thousand students at the levels of primary, secondary and high school.
During the work carried out in the building, fortifications were performed, doors and windows were updated, walls were painted. Also, new desks, tables, chairs, boards and various training materials were put in the classes.
At the opening ceremony of the school, the coordinator of the TİKA office in Herth Arafat Deniz expressed the joy that the organization was able to help needing people in the remote region and confirmed that the support of educational projects would continue to expand.
In turn, the leadership of the school thanked Ti̇ka and Turkey for the assistance provided.
The students of the school, most of which are Turkmen, performed poems on Turkmen, Turkish, Farsi and Pashta in honor of the opening of the educational institution.
