Agreement Between Iraq And Turkey Is Not Aimed At Termination Of Presence Of Turkish Armed Forces In Iraq

The Center for Combating the Directorate of Communications of the Administration of the Presidential Administration of Turia says that the assertion of some media that “the security agreement signed between Iraq and Turkey is aimed at the termination of the presence of the Turkish armed forces in Iraq” does not correspond to reality .

The Center’s statement says that the memorandum of mutual understanding of the coordination of military operations and security and the fight against terrorism signed between Turkey and Iraq, there is no such situation.

The document notes that in accordance with the memorandum of mutual understanding, the two countries will create a joint center for safety coordination in Baghdad and a joint center for training and cooperation in Bashik:
