The leader of the new administration in Syria, Ahmed al-Shara, emphasized the need to restore the country with great devotion and a sense of affection.
The ball was present at the funeral ceremony of the scientific Saria al-Rimask in Damascus.
Speaking at the funeral ceremony, the ball noted that Sariya was one of the symbols of resistance. He expressed condolences to loved ones and his own deceased.
“Syria for 60 years was greatly persecuted, the families were divided, people were forced to migrate to other countries, and their houses were destroyed,” he said.
The ball recalled that in the near past, the military regimes of Assad struck the civilian citizens with barrel bombs, arrested and tortured innocent people.
According to him, vague times were left behind: “Today, the Syrian people got rid of the oppressor, life returns to the normal direction. People return to their homeland after more than 13 years of emigration.”
noting that the people of Damascus are experiencing a historical process and is at a crossroads, the ball continued:
“We must restore our state with great devotion and affection. After all, Damascus was the anti -aircraft gun of Islam, the center of the Arab and Islamic states. All geography from China to Andalusia was controlled from here. This is a wonderful story, we know the price of these events”.
Emphasizing the importance of a serious approach to restoring the country, the ball added: “People are returning to their homes. At this stage, we all have to seriously work on the restoration of the country.”
Sariye al-Rifai, one of the leading scientists of Syria, was born in Damascus in 1948. In 1966, she entered the University of Al-Azhar in Egypt, and after returning to Damascus founded the Scientific Center named after Zayd Bin Tabita.
The scientist, known for its opposition to the Baas regime, left Syria in 2012 and settled in Istanbul. She died on January 6, 2025.
