Turkey offered the assistance of Greece in the elimination of large-scale fires that broke out in the town of Barnabas and spread to various parts of the capital’s region of Attica due to strong winds.
According to diplomatic sources, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan informed the Athens administration that Ankara is ready to support Greece as part of a good -neighborly policy.
In turn, the Greek side said that it would analyze the proposal and if necessary ask for support from Turkey.
Sources noted that there are no major fires in Turkey at the moment, which in turn has created the opportunity to offer assistance to Greece.
Thus, Turkey initiated steps to send two fire aircraft and helicopter to support Greece in the fight against fires.
