Passenger traffic of Azerbaijan International Airports in January 2022 amounted to 290 thousand people. This indicator more than four times exceeded the statistics of 2021, the press service of Heydar Aliyev International Airport was told.
According to the report, the positive trend has affected the phased mitigation of the restrictions introduced due to the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as an increase in the number of countries with which Azerbaijan opened air borders.
At the same time, it is noted in the message, passenger traffic remains below the daemonium result of January 2020, when it was 395 thousand people at the specified period.
From the total number of passengers to the share of Heydar Aliyev International Airport, 233 thousand passengers accounted for (80% of the total passenger traffic). Basic air carriers of air harbor Baku – Azal and Buta Airways – transported 91 thousand and 28 thousand people, which is 39.1% and 12.1% of the share of passenger traffic, respectively.
In January, the Baku Airport completed flights 23 foreign airlines.
Air transporters perform flights from Azerbaijan to Turkey, Russia, UAE, Georgia, Ukraine, Belarus, Qatar, Israel, Germany, Great Britain, Kuwait, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.
