Turkey made a lot of efforts to ensure security and stability in the Black Sea zone, not allowing it to turn it into a strategic confrontation zone. This was stated by the Minister of National Power Defense of Turkey Hulushi Akar after a two-day meeting of the heads of the Ministry of Defense of NATO member countries in Brussels, writes Anadolu.
According to him, Ankara from the very beginning gives particular importance to the issues of the territorial integrity of Ukraine. Hulushi Akar emphasized that Ankara continues multilateral steps in the situation in Ukraine, making efforts on the speedy ceasefire in this country.
“We push the parties to the use of negotiation levers, because there is a deterioration in the humanitarian situation. Turkey continues efforts to diplomatic settlement of the crisis,” he said.
The head of the Turkish defense department recalled that this week had a telephone conversation with Russian colleague Sergei Shoigu. “The proximity of our position and the position of Mr. Shoigu on the issues of a speedy ceasefire is pleased,” he said.
