The Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alain Simonyan, will not participate in the tripartite parliamentary meeting of Russia – Azerbaijan – Armenia until the humanitarian and territorial issues noted in a tripartite statement of October 31 are settled. This was reported by the Armenian media by the spokesman for the NS speaker Tsovinar Khachatryan, noting that she does not confirm the information about the meeting that will be held next week.
“Armenia received a proposal for tripartite inter -parliamentary negotiations from the chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Volodin, when Alain Simonyan was on a working visit to Russia, and the NS speaker accepted the invitation,” Khachatryan said.
She denied the information that the meeting would take place next week. “It is not true,” said Khachatryan.
Earlier, the State Duma press service reported that on October 10, Volodin supported the idea of the speaker of the Armenian parliament to discuss issues of regional security as part of a parliamentary format with the participation of the Russian Federation, Azerbaijan and Armenia.
