Albania chooses parliament

Voting in the elections to the People’s Assembly (Single Parliament) Albania in the conditions of the Pandemic Coronavirus began on Sunday in this country. According to TASS, at 07:00 local time, more than 5 thousand polling stations opened in the territory of the republic. Voting will end at 19:00 local time.

Citizens of the country over 18 years old are active and passive electoral right – about 3.6 million people. At the same time, the number of permanent population of Albania is about 2.9 million people, since many Albanians live outside the country. At the same time, according to the Republican CEC, this year about 130 thousand people will not be able to vote due to the infection of the coronavirus and the need to stay on home quarantine or in hospital institutions.

The representatives of 46 political parties and three coalitions will compete in the 140-seater High Legislative Body of the Republic of the Republic of 140. As expected, the main struggle will unfold between the ruling socialist party of Albania of the Prime Minister Eddi Rama and the coalition led by the opposition Democratic Party of Lulzima Bashi.

According to experts, at the time of completion of the previous month of the election campaign, the leadership with a rating of 48.1% preserved the party Eddi Rama. For the opposition, 43.6% of voters are ready to give their votes.
