The European Parliament awarded Alexey Navalny Prize named after Sakharov for 2021, RIA Novosti reports.
In the short-list of the award, the presentation of which is appointed to the plenary session of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on December 15, in addition to Navalny, Afghan women and human rights activist from Bolivia have fallen.
The European Parliament annually awards the Award named after Andrei Sakharov’s academician to outstanding people and organizations that, according to European parliamentarians, make a significant contribution to the protection of human rights and fundamental European values. The premium was established in 1988.
