Head of the State Security Service of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Commission for Prisoners of war, hostages and missing citizens Ali Nagiyev adopted a delegation led by Vice President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Country Railway, reports SGB website.
According to the report, Azerbaijani and ICRC communications were discussed at the meeting, which represent mutual interest on the humanitarian missions carried out by this organization.
Colonel-General Ali Nagiyev, touching the issue of missing citizens of Azerbaijan in the first and second Karabakh wars, expressed the hope that the ICRC will continue to play an active role in this direction and make a great contribution.
was also noted that taking into account the new realities reigning in the region of the ICRC on the territory of Azerbaijan, temporarily under the control of Russian peacekeeping forces, are possible only through the territories of Azerbaijan, and not Armenia.
In addition, during the conversation, the topic of returning to the homeland of citizens of Azerbaijani origin and their families from the Middle East was widely discussed, in particular, from Syria and Iraq.
Vice-President of the ICRC Gilles Carbonier expressed satisfaction with the cooperation with the Government of Azerbaijan, as well as the confidence that the joint fruitful activity on the decision of these issues will be continued.
