Armenia occupied Azerbaijani lands for about 30 years, but no sanctions were applied to it, the president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said, speaking at a panel discussion on the topic “Overcoming the mountains? Building a security in the South Caucasus” within the framework of the Munich conference on security.
“For about 30 years, our lands were under the Armenian occupation. Prime Minister Garibashvili noted that in 2008, after the Russian-Georgian war, no sanctions were imposed against Russia. But I can also say that Armenia occupied 20 percent the territory of Azerbaijan, violated international law and did not fulfill the resolution of the UN Security Council for 27 years. And no sanctions were applied to them, ”said President Aliyev.
