Aliyev: Armenia Should Take Steps To Abolish Minsk Group OSCE

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev accepted the general secretary of the OSCE Feridun Sinirlioglu.

The head of state congratulated Feridun Sinirlioglu on the appointment of the OSCE Secretary General.

In turn, Sinirlioglu expressed gratitude for the congratulations. The guest emphasized that the South Caucasus is one of the important regions in the Auger of the OSCE.

Congratulations on the achieved results in the coordination of the text of the peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan, the OSCE Secretary General noted that discussions are underway to normalize relations between the two countries.

He also touched on the projects of cooperation implemented by the OSCE with Azerbaijan.

Stressing that it was time to abolish the Minsk OSCE group, which suffered full collapse in the settlement of the past Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, and all the institutions associated with it, President Aliyev emphasized that Armenia should also take steps in this direction. President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan fully ensured its territorial integrity and sovereignty by military and political means, thereby ensuring the approval of the norms and principles of the Helsinki final act, international law.

At the meeting, an exchange of views on cooperation between Azerbaijan and the OSCE in various fields was held.
