Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev sent a congratulatory letter to his Lithuanian colleague to Gitanaus Naucede on the occasion of the national holiday of this country – the day of restoration of the Lithuanian state.
“Dear Mr. President,
from myself personally and on behalf of the people of Azerbaijan, I convey to you and your people the most sincere congratulations on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Lithuania.
Relations between Azerbaijan and Lithuania are of good traditions and we attach particular importance to their development.
I recall our meeting with you in Davos last month and an exchange of views. I believe that at present there have been good opportunities for expanding relations between our countries in various fields, determining the new directions of our cooperation.
I believe that Azerbaijani-Lithuanian ties and our mutually beneficial cooperation will continue to develop and strengthen both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of the European Union.
On this holiday, I give you the best wishes, I wish the friendly people of Lithuania – constant peace and prosperity, ”the text of the letter says.
