Armenia is engaged in manipulating events on the Lachin road in order to mislead the international community and, based on false information, claims that the road is allegedly closed. So said the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev at a meeting in Davos with the head of the Lithuanian state by Gitanas Nauceda.
According to Azertaj, during the conversation, there was an exchange of views on regional issues, normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, negotiation process under a peace treaty, as well as the events taking place on the Lachin -Khankendi road on the territory of Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev noted that the Lachinsky road is open for the travel of civilians and civilian goods, and the free movement of humanitarian goods is also ensured through the International Committee of the Red Cross. The head of state brought to attention the importance of the cessation of the illegal operation of the natural resources of Azerbaijan in the territories where Russian peacekeeping forces are temporarily deployed and output from the territory of criminal elements.
The President of Azerbaijan emphasized that the Armenian side has been using the Lachinsky road for transporting mines, ammunition and personnel for more than two years.
At the meeting, the presidents exchanged views on relations between Azerbaijan and the European Union. The importance of the tripartite format of the European Union – Azerbaijan – Armenia, organized with the support of the chairman of the Council of the European Union Charles Michel, was noted, in terms of promoting a peaceful agenda between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
The important role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of Europe was also emphasized. In this context, the values of Azerbaijan, Georgia, Romania and Hungary were noted about the development and transfer of green energy, signed in December last year in Bucharest.
