Aliyev: Policy Of Sanctions Is Not Entitled To Exist

Policy of sanctions has no right to exist. This was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Russia-1 television channel in Moscow.

“She (the policy of sanctions) does not have the right to exist at all. Especially when these sanctions are illegal and are imposed completely unreasonably and selectively. Therefore, we categorically oppose any sanctions, and I believe that the international community should consolidate its position. The President recalled that the sanctions were imposed on Azerbaijan in 1992 on a far -fetched charge that he was blocking Armenia, while the Azerbaijani territories were under the Armenian occupation.

“These sanctions were lifted in 2001, when the United States needed to transit their cargo both by air, and the terrestrial and sea route to Afghanistan through the territory of Azerbaijan. And every year the President of the United States – regardless of party affiliation – these The sanctions were canceled by the moment when the United States fled from Afghanistan. , – said Aliyev.
