The Minsk group, which received the mandate from the OSCE, has not achieved any results over 28 years of its activity. Therefore, after Azerbaijan regulated the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the Minsk group is no longer necessary. This was stated by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in his speech at the opening ceremony of the Global Baku Forum “Threat of Global Order” in Baku.
The head of state noted that everyone understands the inability to meet the three co-chairs of the Minsk group, especially after the Russian-Ukrainian war.
“We have already received messages that the Institute of the Minsk Group will no longer function,” the president said.
“Thus, I want to declare our position – any speculation about the Minsk group in Armenia or any other country only annoy Azerbaijan. We resolved the conflict. The Madrid principles developed by the Minsk group have been resolved. Now we must think about the fact that How to normalize relations with Armenia and sign a peace agreement, ”he said.
According to the head of state, in Baku Rada that the Armenian government adopted five basic principles proposed by Azerbaijan to normalize relations. “Now we need practical steps in this direction,” he added.
Ilham Aliyev emphasized that Armenia should fulfill all points of the tripartite statement of November 10, 2020, including the opening of communications in the region.
