West Azerbaijan is our historical land. This is confirmed by numerous historical documents, historical maps, our story, President Ilham Aliyev said at a meeting with a group of representatives of the intelligentsia from Western Azerbaijan.
“Unfortunately, the Armenians were baptized with the ground and destroyed all our historical and religious monuments in Western Azerbaijan, just as they did in Karabakh. They wanted to erase the historical heritage of Azerbaijanis, but could not achieve this because there is history there are documents, there are cards. The map of the beginning of the twentieth century demonstrated in this building once again indicates that Western Azerbaijan is the historical Azerbaijani Territory, and the names of cities and villages of this region are of Azerbaijani origin. We are well aware that the Azerbaijani people throughout the whole Stories lived on the territory of present -day Armenia, ”said Aliyev.
The president emphasized that now the main task of Azerbaijan is to convey this information to the world community: “Work in this direction has already begun. But I am sure that the community will work in this direction more purposefully, to achieve the result” .
