Aliyev: Yerevan Must Accept Legitimate Conditions Of Baku If He Really Wants To Sign Peace Treaty

Today, the text of a peace treaty is fully consistent, it consists of 17 paragraphs. Azerbaijan does not put forward any additional conditions, and his demands are known to Armenia. This was said by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev in a statement for the press with Germany President Francom-Walter Steinmeier.

Aliyev said that one of the key conditions is the abolition of the Minsk group of the OSCE. The second requirement of Baku, as the president noted, is the amendments to the Armenia Constitution, which contains a link to the act of independence of Armenia with the Regulation on the addition of the historical territory of Azerbaijan.

“This is considered an open territorial claim to us. Therefore, the removal of this provision from the Armenia Constitution is our legitimate requirement. After these two conditions are fulfilled, there will be no obstacles to signing a peaceful contract. As they say, the ball was on the Armenia side,” Aliyev emphasized, adding that Armenia should accept these legitimate conditions of Azerbaijan, if he really wants to sign a worldwide Treaty.

The head of Azerbaijan noted that the historical victory of the country has opened the way to peaceful negotiations, and the positions of Baku and Yerevan in the achievement of the world have become close enough.

In turn, Germany President Frank-Walter Steinmeier noted that the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan is very important.

“An important point has come in reaching an agreement. I hope that this moment will be used to sign a peace treaty, and a really strong world will be established in your region. I am highly hopes for this,” Steinmeier said, adding that Germany is ready to provide the necessary support in this process.
