In Almaty, a meeting of the Council of Ministers of Defense of the CSTO member states was held. He was attended by heads of defense departments of the CSTO member states, Secretary General and chief of the United Headquarters of the Organization.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, the meeting was opened by the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan, Colonel General Ruslan Zhaksylykov.
In a narrow composition at a meeting with a report on the challenges and threats of military security in the regions of the collective security of the CSTO, the general secretary of the organization Imangali Tasmagambetov was performed.
The parties exchanged opinions and outlined their vision of priority areas for the development of cooperation in the field of military security.
At the plenary meeting of the Council, the parties accepted a number of documents. They relate to the planning of the joint training of the collective forces of the CSTO, their equipment with modern weapons, military and special equipment.
Following the meeting, the Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan expressed gratitude to its participants for fruitful and productive work.
“During our meeting today, we conducted a comprehensive analysis of the challenges and threats in the regions of the collective security of the CSTO. We considered documents aimed at further deepening the interaction of the defense departments of our states and the development of the military component of the organization, – Jacksylykov summed up.
The Minister of Defense of Kazakhstan also announced the results of the work of the advisory and executive body of the organization on the coordination of the interaction of states – members in the field of military policy, military construction and military -technical cooperation.
Zhaksylykov announced the decision of the parties to continue regular exchange of information based on the results of monitoring the military-political situation, trends in its development to develop joint measures.
“According to the results of the meeting, a number of documents regarding the training and conduct of exercises, equip the collective forces, the activities of the United Staff, joint training events in 2025 and issues of their financing were signed,” he made.
The next meeting of the Council of Defense Ministers will be held in November this year in Astana, on the eve of the session of the Collective Security Council.
