In the first six months of 2022, Russian citizens sent 144,835 “appeals” to Roskomnadzor. Most of the denunciations are connected with the war in Ukraine: the Russians complained about “fakes” about the actions of the Russian military and “pro -Ukrainian propaganda”, reports The Insider.
Most of the denunciations were received by the department in March, when the war only began – 10,323 appeals, which is almost four times higher than last year. In annual terms, the number of denunciations grew by a quarter immediately. The department clarified that the Russians often asked to delete links “to resources with pro -Ukrainian propaganda.”
