The Taliban movement has established control over the administrative centers of the provinces Bagdis, Gur and Gilmend in the south and the west of Afghanistan, reports Anadolu.
The head of the Local Council Bagdis said that in the morning on Friday the Taliban managed to capture the city of Kale-and Nav. Security forces retreated at the military base near the city. He noted that the Taliban controls the entire province, with the exception of the territory of the military base.
Deputy of the Province of Gur Fatima Kochistani said that the city of Firiz Koh was taken by the Taliban, the security forces retreated without a fight, she said.
Taliban also established control over the strategically important and one of the largest cities in Afghanistan – the city of Lashkaryg, the administrative center of the province of Gilmend, the battles for the city continued for 20 days.
Earlier, on the night of August 13, the Taliban has established control over the administrative center of Kandahar Province, the second largest city in Afghanistan.
The historic city of Gazni, connecting Kabul with southern provinces, and the administrative center of the province of Herat in the West of Afghanistan are also under the control of the Taliban.
In June, the Militants of the Taliban movement captured dozens of counties, then switched to administrative provincial centers. Taliban set control over 15 provincial administrative centers.
The government of Afghanistan still controls 19 of 34 provincial centers.
