“Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan – two fraternal countries, the close cooperation of which is vital for peace and stability in the region,” the official statement of Sun Pakistan says.
On Wednesday, October 13, the head of the Iranian Air Force, General Major Mohammed Bagiri, arrived in Pakistan, where he held a number of meetings with the military leaders of the country, as well as the Prime Minister Imran Khan.
In a statement by the press service of the Air Force Pakistan, it is said that the parties discussed a number of issues, including the situation in Afghanistan and regional security. Iran and Pakistan also agreed to strengthen military cooperation “in the interests of peace in the region and the fight against terrorism.”
Head of the General Staff Iran, in turn, expressed the desire to further strengthen military relations between the two countries.
Prime Minister stressed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral trade relations, as well as expanding economic and energy cooperation.
He described the border between Pakistan and Iran as the border of the “World and Friendship” and emphasized the importance of steps taken to improve security on both sides.
During a meeting with Iranian General, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan stressed Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening bilateral trade relations, as well as expanding economic cooperation, adding that his country highly appreciates Iran’s support in Kashmir dispute.
Also, the Prime Minister asked to convey the heart greetings to the President of Iran, inviting him to Islamabad.
