The Ambassador of Ukraine to Warsaw Vasily Zvarych was called on Wednesday at the Poland Foreign Ministry.
The reason was the performance at the General Assembly of the UN of the Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, Polish media write.
Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Department of Poland, Pavel Yablia, expressed a decisive protest to the Ukrainian representative in connection with Zelensky’s statements that “some EU countries are simulating solidarity, indirectly supporting Russia.”
Yablonian emphasized that such statements are unfair to Poland, which from the first days of the conflict supported Ukraine.
“Deputy Minister of Yablonians noted that pressure on Poland at international forums or sending complaints to international courts is not a suitable method of resolving disputes between countries,” the publication says.
Last week, Poland refused to fulfill the decision of the European Commission and extended the embargo to import cheap Ukrainian grain, explaining this by protecting the interests of Polish farmers. Ukraine in response filed a complaint to the WTO and threatened to introduce an embargo to the import of apples, onions and cabbage from Poland.
