Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jaykhun Bayramov met on Friday, December 9, with the British Ambassador Fergus Old.
According to the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry, the meeting expressed satisfaction with both bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Kingdom, the issues of cooperation between the two countries in the energy, transport, educational and other areas were discussed in detail.
Jayhun Bayramov noted that the UK is the largest direct foreign investor in Azerbaijan. He informed the British ambassador about the process of normalizing Azerbaijani-Armenian relations, restoration and construction work in territories liberated from occupation. The ambassador was informed of the facts of the presence of a mine threat in the region and the failure of Armenia of its obligations within the framework of trilateral statements and agreements.
At the same time, Fergus Old noted that successful cooperation between the two countries has great prospects in the fields of energy, alternative energy, education, high technologies and a number of other directions. He especially noted Azerbaijan’s significant contribution to Europe’s energy security, and also emphasized that Azerbaijan’s support in eliminating the mine threat will continue.
On Friday, Jayhun Bayramov’s meeting with the German Ambassador to Azerbaijan Ralph Horleman also met.
During the meeting with the ambassador, an exchange of views of the under two -sided connections and the regional situation, and energy security issues took place. Work in the field of energy safety, energy exports in Europe and the development of alternative energy resources were discussed by Azerbaijan.
The ambassador was informed about the post -conflict situation in the region, recovery work in the liberated territories, and green energy projects.
Ambassador Ralph Horleman emphasized that Azerbaijan is an important German economic partner in the South Caucasus. The issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany in the humanitarian and cultural spheres were discussed, other issues of mutual interest.
