Ambitious Space Projects Of Turkey Attract Attention Of Other Countries

Türkiye attracts the attention of other countries with its ambitious projects in the space sector planned for the coming years.

Active cooperation is carried out by various countries in the field of space research. Also, at present, together with the Swedish Institute of Space Physics, Türkiye is preparing a lunar mission.

Professor Stanislav Barabash, Deputy Director of the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kirun and the head of the Sunny System and Space Technology Programs, told Anadolu about cooperation with the Turkish Space Research Institute – Tübi̇tak Uzay in the framework of the first lunar mission of Turkey since July 2022.

Barabash noted that humanity only recently entered the new, intensive era of the development of the moon, and expressed satisfaction about the possibility of participating in this exciting journey along with Turkish colleagues.

– It is planned to study interaction on the surface of the moon

The professor emphasized that the goals declared by Turkey and the “roadmap” developed by it in the space sphere are very ambitious and deserve special attention.

“At present, we have established cooperation with Turkey within the framework of the lunar mission, which will benefit both countries. We will conduct a number of scientific research together, collecting unique data on the lunar surface. As part of our scientific mission, an advanced technique is used to study the environmental interaction with the surface of the moon. This work will help to answer fundamental questions about the process of water formation on the moon and the influence of local magnetism on the influence of local magnetism The plasma surrounding her, ”he explained.

Barabash noted that he took part in the 3rd meeting of the working group in lunar science, held this month in Ankara, due to which he could personally evaluate the significant progress achieved as part of the lunar mission.

– In Turkey, there is a growing interest in space among youth

According to him, at the meeting it was interesting to observe the expansion of the community of cosmos researchers in Turkey and evaluate the country’s high potential in this area.

The enthusiasm and high professionalism of the team led by Tübi̇tak Uzay made this cooperation productive and exciting, said Deputy Director of the Institute.

“In Turkey, a young generation is now being formed, which manifests special interest in space and aviation, which is extremely important for the sustainable development of space technology. In this regard, we invite Turkish students who want to work on a lunar project, to Sweden to obtain the degree of a doctors of philosophy and are impatiently awaiting the opportunity to cooperate with them,” added a professor.
