Russia began to use a significantly larger number of Iranian drones in attacks on critically important objects of Ukrainian infrastructure, the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW) reports.
Experts note that this indicates that Moscow received a new batch of UAV from Tehran.
According to the Air Force of Ukraine, on December 10, Russian forces inflicted 15 shocks of the shaped-136 and Shahed-131 drones in the Kherson, Nikolaev and Odessa regions. One of the blows seriously affected important infrastructure objects in Odessa: power engineers warn that its restoration will take more time than usual.
According to ISW, Russian forces probably modified drones for colder weather and resumed the use of Iranian drones to strike at Ukrainian cities for the first time in three weeks – Russian forces did not use Iranian drones to attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure since October 23.
An increase in the pace of attacks of Russian drones may indicate a new batch from Iran. The authors of the review admit that Russian troops could accumulate drones in those three weeks when they did not use them.
