Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and Forced Migrants Fuad Huseynov met with the political adviser to the US Embassy in Azerbaijan Philip Site.
at the meeting it was noted that President Ilham Aliyev had determined the problems of the problems of former displaced persons as one of the priorities of social policy. Deputy Chairman of the State Committee expressed gratitude to the US Government for the humanitarian support provided to the forced migrants. It was noted that the absolute majority of internally displaced persons intend to return to the territory liberated from the occupation – at a permanent place of residence. The return process that will be carried out on the principle of voluntary will begin after ensuring safety and decent living conditions in these areas. According to the instructions of the President, currently state structures are working to solve these issues.
Guest was also informed about the current state of liberated territories, safety measures conducted by restoration and construction work and prepare for the return of forced displaced persons. Fuad Huseynov recalled that the master plan for several liberated cities was already approved, and general plans will be approved in the near future.
