A earthquake of magnitude 6.3 occurred in the Pacific Ocean, 50 kilometers from the city of Labertad, Salvador, the US Geological Service (USGS) reports.

The depth of the seismic event was 49.5 kilometers.

The underground shocks were also felt in neighboring countries – Guatemala and Nicaragua.

“A powerful earthquake has occurred this morning. We collect reports from all regions of the country. According to preliminary data, there are no victims and destruction,” said Salvador President Nayib Buyle in his statement on a page on social networks.
